My client is looking for a Technical Architect - Salesforce. This role will be focused on SF customer implementations, with the TA designing the key technical components of the solution and helping to direct technical resources to develop and deliver the project deliverables. The TA uncovers design issues early in the project life-cycle, shares implementation best practices, recommends solution alternatives, and conducts design and/or code reviews during major project milestones.

The role is based in Amsterdam, with up to 40-60% travel required. In addition, candidates must be EU citizens or have the right to freely travel across European countries for client work. Candidates who require residency or work visa sponsorship will not be considered for this role.


Fulfill commitments consistently and on time; proactively escalate and engage with commitments that are in jeopardy.

Making informed trade-offs between technology and feasibility; making choices that fit the constraints of the project.

Familiarity with project management fundamentals; ability to take on project management roles.

Design and implement biztech solutions focused on cloud-based business applications, e.g. Salesforce, Workday, Google, etc.

Direct involvement and/or oversight of developing business requirements, specifications, process flows, application design and configuration, testing and deployment.

Work directly with clients to lead projects, facilitate business process analysis sessions, develop and deliver key components of the solution; with the ability to perform the most advanced design and development tasks.

Oversee technical decisions and activities of project teams, including the division of work, assigning to team members, and monitoring for quality.

Understand various platform limitations, with the ability to design alternatives to work around these limitations.

Identify when business requirements conflict with technical capabilities.

Provide constructive feedback to project teams; partner with project managers to monitor project status, progress and risk areas.

Monitor technical deliverables for consistent quality as well as compliance with company standards.

Confident, with the ability to challenge a client and guide them towards the appropriate solution based on their circumstances; also being able to push back when a client requests solutions that aren't in their best interests.

Function as a leader within the organization and industry, e.g. subject matter expert, community leader, silver lining lead, speaker at industry events.

Participate actively in discussions, building a reputation as a go-to for the toughest problems. Contributes to the wiki, asset libraries, cloud management center; sponsor and mentor new employees, represent the client at engagement events.

Provide mentorship, guidance to other team members (including offshore).

Generate timely status reports, time tracking and expense reports.

Provide pre-sales support as and when requested/required.

Achieve published company utilization targets.

Education and required experience:

Master's degree in one of the following fields - Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems; or a related field plus 2 years' experience in Salesforce development. A bachelor's degree will be accepted in combination with 5 years of Salesforce development or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

8+ years' project experience in a hands-on, technical leadership position.

5+ years' experience with Salesforce in a development or configuration context, with 8+ years' experience a strong preference.

Salesforce certification - Admin/Advanced Admin, Platform Dev 1 or 2, App Builder, Sales/Service Cloud; multiple certifications and/or Technical Architect certification strongly preferred.

Knowledge of Salesforce integration patterns and best practices using Apex and Visualforce.

Fluency in English, with knowledge of other European languages appreciated.
