Salesforce Admin/ Developer



This role would combine admin skills with developer and troubleshooting skills such as design, code, test and implement new Salesforce software applications to meet project objectives and support new or expanding business objectives. Many aspects of the job are very similar to those of a software developer, including analysis, testing and deployment of new or updated software applications.

To ensure success as a Salesforce administrator / developer, you should possess extensive knowledge of Salesforce system administration and the ability to work in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring optimal performance of Salesforce systems and products
  • Upgrading and configuring Salesforce systems for optimised integration
  • Managing Salesforce roles, profiles, sharing rules, workflows, and groups
  • Importing sales department leads, contacts, and other data
  • Maintaining the cloud apps, as well as building custom reports and dashboards
  • Work with programmers and designers on back end functionality and interfaces
  • Performing database maintenance tasks, including diagnostic tests and duplicate entry cleansing
  • Interact directly with clients, managers and end users as necessary to analyze project objectives and capability requirements, including specifications for user interfaces, customized applications and interactions with internal Salesforce instances
  • Evaluating and installing new Salesforce releases, as well as providing training and support
  • Documenting processes, including error reports and changes to field history tables
  • Implementing Salesforce configuration changes including (but not limited to): Workflow, Process Builder, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, dashboards and reports
  • Communicate with project managers, clients and other developers to design cohesive project strategies and ensure effective collaboration throughout all phases of development, testing and deployment

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Salesforce administrator in a similar environment
  • One or more current certifications (Administrator, Developer, Sales/Service Cloud, App Builder)
  • 4+ years of experience with hands-on technical development/programming, preferably with the platform
  • Experience working with object-oriented languages such as Java, JavaScript, C#, Ruby or .NET
  • Understanding of system and data integration architecture and a strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with the AppExchange and deploying Managed Packages
  • Proficiency in creating Salesforce profiles, allocating roles, and managing access
  • Knowledge of importing sales, product, and customer data and generating Salesforce reports
  • Ability to provide Salesforce training and end-user support

Nice to Haves:
  • Associates, Bachelors or Certification in Computer Programming, Software or Cybersecurity a plus
  • Advanced Administrator, Advanced Developer, or Technical Architect certifications highly preferred
  • 2 year of experience mentoring developers or leading a team preferred
  • 1 year experience working with Lightning Components preferred
