Business Analyst, Salesforce - New York, NY

A highly rated global speciality property & casualty insurer focused on small to mid-sized commercial clients is seeking a Salesforce Business Analyst to support their Salesforce platform. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company at the ground floor of their Salesforce implementation!

Responsibilities
  • Elicit, document, and refine business requirements through workshops and stakeholder interviews, translating them into detailed user stories, process flows, and functional specifications
  • Design scalable Salesforce solutions, recommending the best combination of declarative features and custom development
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including data models, use cases, test scenarios, training materials, and release notes
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT), develop test cases, coordinate sandbox management, and oversee change deployment to production
  • Own the enhancement backlog, prioritise incoming requests, and enforce change governance processes
  • Build and deliver recurring reconciliation reports, executive dashboards, and monthly aggregated data sets under strict deadlines
  • Investigate and resolve data quality, mapping, and integration issues in collaboration with technical teams
  • Produce ad hoc analyses and actionable insights for leadership and strategy teams
  • Develop and conduct end-user training programs, create self-service resources, and provide ongoing post-go-live support
  • Monitor platform adoption, performance metrics, and user feedback to identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Stay current with Salesforce releases and proactively recommend new features that align with business objectives
  • Report system health, security posture, and compliance status to IT and governance stakeholders


Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Salesforce Business Analyst or similar role
  • An active Salesforce Administrator certification is required
  • Additional certifications strongly preferred (Advanced Administrator, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, Platform App Builder, or Business Analyst)
  • Proven expertise in requirements gathering, process mapping, user story writing, and acceptance criteria definition
  • Strong data analysis skills with advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, large data sets)
  • Solid understanding of Salesforce data architecture, integrations, and reporting capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings, present to senior leadership, and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable thriving in high-pressure periods and delivering against firm monthly deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed with strong prioritisation and multitasking abilities in a dynamic environment
  • Team player with a track record of building trusted relationships across business and technical groups
