Salesforce Architect - $180K - $200K - Remote

About the role
A large, established organization is seeking a Salesforce Platform Architect to own the technical direction and architectural integrity of a complex, multi-cloud Salesforce ecosystem. This is a hands-on, strategic role focused on designing scalable, secure, configuration-first solutions while governing platform standards and aligning Salesforce capabilities to business outcomes.

The Architect will collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders and delivery teams, providing architectural leadership and technical guidance throughout the full delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture and Design Leadership

• 
  
  Own end-to-end architecture across multiple Salesforce Clouds, including Sales, Service, and Experience Cloud
• 
  
  Design scalable, reusable, configuration-first solutions aligned with Salesforce Well-Architected principles (security, scalability, performance, data, and maintainability)
• 
  
  Maintain reference architectures, data models, and reusable components
• 
  
  Review and approve technical designs produced by internal teams and external partners

Platform Governance and Security

• 
  
  Define and enforce platform standards, naming conventions, org strategy, and reuse patterns
• 
  
  Govern platform health, including API usage, licensing, and technical debt
• 
  
  Own the Salesforce security model (role hierarchy, sharing rules, field-level security) and support audit and compliance initiatives

Integration and Data Architecture

• 
  
  Lead integration strategy across enterprise systems, marketing platforms, file transfer solutions, and middleware
• 
  
  Ensure reliable, auditable real-time and batch data flows
• 
  
  Establish API and data contract governance, including event-driven and synchronous integration patterns (e.g., Platform Events, Change Data Capture)

Delivery Enablement and Collaboration

• 
  
  Partner with business and delivery leaders on solution option analysis
• 
  
  Mentor development and delivery teams through hands-on design support and code reviews
• 
  
  Align architecture with QA and testing strategies
• 
  
  Support vendor evaluations and delivery oversight

Strategy and Innovation

• 
  
  Stay current on Salesforce releases and roadmap
• 
  
  Recommend adoption of new capabilities and platform features
• 
  
  Advocate for Salesforce-native, buy-over-build solutions where appropriate
• 
  
  Participate in architecture and governance forums

Required Experience and Qualifications

• 
  
  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• 
  
  10+ years of Salesforce technical experience, including multi-cloud architecture and platform governance
• 
  
  Deep expertise with Salesforce Flows, Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and API architecture
• 
  
  Proven experience leading cross-functional Salesforce delivery teams

Preferred Qualifications

• 
  
  Salesforce certifications such as Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I/II
• 
  
  Familiarity with CI/CD practices and version control tools
• 
  
  Experience with secure mobile applications and API-based integrations
