Salesforce Administrator

Summary

Responsibilities

• Primary point of contact for all Salesforce configuration, security, user management, and enhancements
• Build and maintain fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, flows, process builder, and approval processes
• Create and optimize reports, dashboards, list views, Account Hierarchy, Territory Management, and assignment rules
• Manage sandboxes, change sets, deployments, and third-party apps (e.g., SalesConnect, CPQ, outreach tools)
• Deliver training, documentation, and ongoing support to sales and revenue teams; lead adoption initiatives
• Partner with Sales Tech/IT on release management and new feature evaluation

• Collaborate on solutions requiring Apex triggers, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, or advanced Flow
• Support integrations with marketing automation, CPQ, ERP, data warehouse, etc., via APIs or middleware
• Ensure all custom work is scalable, documented, and version-controlled

• Own end-to-end data integrity, deduplication (Cloudingo, DemandTools, Validity), enrichment, and cleansing
• Execute regular and ad-hoc imports/exports, mass updates, and scheduled maintenance
• Monitor and reconcile data across integrated systems

Requirements

• Salesforce Administrator certification (current ADM-201 or equivalent)
• 3-5+ years of hands-on Salesforce administration in a sales/revenue operations environment
• Expert in Sales Cloud configuration, security model, reporting, dashboards, forecasting, and territory management
• Proven data management skills (Data Loader, deduplication, mass updates)
• Strong stakeholder management, requirements gathering, training, and communication abilities
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP; macros a plus)

• Additional certifications (Advanced Admin, Platform App Builder, Sales Cloud Consultant)
• Light coding experience (Apex, LWC, Visualforce)
• Exposure to middleware/ETL tools (MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, etc.) and apps like Marketo, Outreach, Gong, or CPQ
• Background in sales ops, rev ops, enablement, or change management

Key Responsibilities

• 
  
  Lead solution architecture across Certinia ERP/PSA (Financials, Projects, Billing, Revenue, Resource Management, Time & Expense).
• 
  
  Translate complex finance and professional services processes into scalable Salesforce-native designs.
• 
  
  Define target architecture, data models, integrations, and best-practice implementation standards.

• 
  
  Own configuration strategy for financials and PSA, including chart of accounts, project structures, billing rules, revenue schedules, approvals, and workflows.
• 
  
  Guide functional and technical teams through requirement interpretation, solution options, and design decisions.
• 
  
  Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery governance.

• 
  
  Architect integrations between Certinia, Salesforce core clouds, and external systems (HRIS, ERP, data warehouses, etc.).
• 
  
  Define data migration strategy for financial and PSA data, including mapping, cleansing, and validation.
• 
  
  Establish data governance and reporting frameworks across the engagement.

• 
  
  Facilitate workshops, design sessions, and solution walkthroughs with finance, operations, and IT stakeholders.

  Provide clear solution recommendations and guide process alignment during implementation.
• 
  
  Collaborate closely with PMs and delivery leads to manage scope, risks, and timelines.

  Establish and enforce Certinia/Salesforce best practices across configuration, customization, testing, and deployment.

  Review solution components to ensure architectural consistency.

  Mentor consultants and client-side resources throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Experience

• 
  
  8+ years ERP/PSA implementation experience, with 3-5+ years of hands-on Certinia (FinancialForce).
• 
  
  Experience as a Solution Architect or Lead Consultant on multiple full-lifecycle implementations.

• Skills: Strong communication to translate technical concepts into business value; ability to simplify ideas for clients and content creation.

• Hands-on experience with Practifi or other financial services ISV Salesforce platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Strong knowledge of Salesforce custom objects, flows, triggers, and Lightning components/pages.

• An active Salesforce Administrator certification is required
• Additional certifications strongly preferred (Advanced Administrator, Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, Platform App Builder, or Business Analyst)
• Proven expertise in requirements gathering, process mapping, user story writing, and acceptance criteria definition
• Strong data analysis skills with advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, large data sets)
• Solid understanding of Salesforce data architecture, integrations, and reporting capabilities
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings, present to senior leadership, and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
