Join my client who is based in the beautiful Limburg region as their new Data Engineering Manager, where you will own and evolve their data environments, spearheading innovation and operational excellence.

Your Mission:

  • Command our Data Ecosystem: Take full responsibility for their data platforms, including PostgreSQL with DBT, alongside BigQuery and Spark on Databricks.
  • Optimize Operational Processes: Define, monitor, and refine their data processes to ensure peak performance and efficiency.
  • Champion Best Practices: Implement top-tier software engineering principles, such as unit testing and CI/CD, across our data infrastructure.
  • Modernize Legacy Systems: Oversee the transition of their legacy stack to a forward-thinking, robust solution.
  • Transform Data Models: Master their operational data models and convert them into structures primed for insightful reporting and analysis.
  • Empower Data Analysts: Provide seamless access to data, ensuring clarity and ease of use for their data analysts.
  • Ensure Data Clarity: Establish well-defined data models, clear terminology, and certify reports in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Lead and Inspire: Guide and mentor their talented team of data engineers, sharing your vision and fostering their growth.


Why You're the Perfect Fit:

  • Educational Background: You hold a Master's degree in Computer Sciences or bring equivalent experience to the table.
  • Software Engineering Prowess: You are a skilled software engineer familiar with CI/CD, agile methodologies, and refactoring techniques.
  • Linux Savvy: You navigate the Linux command-line with ease and confidence.
  • Programming Knowledge: You're proficient in at least one high-level programming language, with bonus points for Python expertise.
  • Simplicity and Pragmatism: You excel at managing complexity, maintaining a keen eye for simple, effective solutions.
  • Database Expertise: You have a deep understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, ETL processes, and DBT.
  • SQL Mastery: Your SQL skills are top-notch, enabling you to handle complex queries effortlessly.
  • Reporting Tool Familiarity: You've worked with various reporting tools, and experience with Tableau is a significant advantage.
  • AI Awareness: You have a keen interest in AI advancements, discerning between fleeting trends and valuable applications.
